Chiropractic has been helping people of all ages with a variety of health issues for over a century without the use of drugs or surgery.
Chiropractic is based upon the understanding that good health depends, in part, upon a normally functioning nervous system. Chiropractic works by helping to restore your own inborn ability to be healthy. When under the proper control of your nervous system, all the cells, tissue, and organs of your body are designed to function well and resist disease and ill health. A common interference to the nervous system is the twenty four moving bones of the spinal column. A loss of normal motion or position of these bones can irritate or impair the function of the nervous system. This can disrupt the transmission of controlling nerve impulses.
The chiropractic approach to better health is to locate and help reduce interferences to your natural state of being healthy. Chiropractors use the best available evidence from research, the preferences of the patient and the expertise and personal experience of the individual chiropractor.
Chiropractors aim to improve nervous system function primarily through chiropractic adjustments (with particular attention to the spine, skull and pelvis), to help remove any interference that may be impairing normal health.
This, in a nutshell, is how chiropractic works!
Our own philosophy is based on the following simple, common-sense principles. They serve as a guide as we assess your health, explain what we found and make our specific care recommendations:
- Being healthy is your normal state
- Your nervous system controls everything
- Stress can overload your nervous system
- Spinal joint dysfunction is a coping strategy
- Adjustments help reduce spinal dysfunction
- You’ll likely need more than one adjustment
- How long you benefit from care is up to you
By the way, if this approach makes as much sense to you as it does to us, we’d like an opportunity to meet you and discuss your options in person.
